Basant Maheshwari brings with him over two decades of experience in equity investing. He is a Cost Accountant and a graduate from St Xavier's College, Kolkata and makes a living out of investing in listed securities.
He has a history of identifying several multibaggers like Pantaloon Retail, TV18, Titan, Page Industries and Hawkins Cooker. This book is a reflection on the strategies that have helped him generate superior gains for the past several years. He is also the founder of the popular online investment portal www.theequitydesk.com which is visited by thousands of visitors each month, both from India and abroad.

These investments along with a HDFC Bank which has been a 30% compounding machine account for more than 90% of Basant's stock market activity by value. Hence, these are not an offshoot of any survivorship bias where people do five hundred investments and report the top ten or top twenty bets that worked out for them. The only time where the author has lost serious money was in Voltas in 2008. Otherwise the losses have been more of profits because of an inability to sell at the top than about the originally invested capital.
